I don't recommend being picky, but it never hurts to have standards. I feel like having standards could keep you from making a big mistake with the wrong guy. Ever date a guy, breakup, think back, and ask yourself, what was I thinking? Well, you can change that.

Start by sitting down with a pencil and a piece of paper and ask yourself, what do I look for in a guy? Then, make your list.
Don’t overdo it! You don’t want to make this impossible, do you? Because if you think “Mr. Perfect” is out there, you’re wrong. Be realistic with your choices and you won’t get let down.
Don’t under do it! You’re not looking to fall in love with any regular Jo Schmo, are you? Think about what is important to you, in life and what your morals or values are. (Does he believe in the same thing as you?) Chances are, this guy isn’t going to meet all of your criteria, but knowing what you are looking for is better than just settling for anything. Also, it could save you from regretting another relationship!
